Using Google Analytics for Traffic Analysis

What is Google Analytics?
Website owners are always keen to know about their website performances in terms of search engine ranking and business returns. Website traffic is one of the most important factors in search engine optimization as well as in determining the overall website performance. Google Analytics can be an ideal way to find out your website traffic behavior. It is one of the most reliable online tools, which provides you all necessary information as to how visitors were able to find your site, how many people actually visited and explored your site, etc. Using this tool you can find out the flaws that you can improve to make the user experience better which can bring in more traffic, which in turn leads to increase in rate of conversions, eventually leading to higher profit margins.

Basic Usage of Google Analytics
As a beginner, you can start off by the basic usage of Google Analytics. By using it in this way, you will come to know about the number of daily visitors to your website, which is displayed on the dashboard of Google Analytics. You can also determine the traffic source as to whether the most of your traffic is directed from search engines, social bookmarking sites, referral websites, or social bookmarking sites. Moreover, you will also know the keywords used most by visitors, and which are the most popular pages of your website.

Advance Usage of Google Analytics
Advanced usage of Google Analytics allows you to look beyond the usual data and gather more information. For example, if the number of visitors to your website is not convincing enough, and you want to increase website traffic, interpret the statistics in the Google Analytics dashboard carefully. Ideally, the majority of your traffic should come from search engines so that it translates into conversions.  You can also focus on targeting appropriate audience for your website, determine whether you have targeted the right country, state, or province, and find out whether the overall content quality of your website is good enough to generate sales. All this information, directly and indirectly, are parts of better search engine optimization techniques and help increase website traffic and conversion rates significantly.
Google Analytics have been used widely for its reliability and accuracy of data when it comes to SEO in India. Search engine optimization firms use this data to improve the overall performance of a website significantly.
