Google’s Panda is Back – Along with 40 Other Updates

Google is out with yet another Panda update dubbed the “Panda 3.3”. In Google’s own words this update is aimed at “refreshing the data in the Panda system, making it more accurate and more sensitive to recent changes on the web” which bears a lot of resemblance to the past update. The bottom line of this update, like the past one, is that good and original content will have a greater SEO impact. The Panda 3.3 also places great emphasis on the freshness of content. Fresh and novel content will result in the page ranking much higher in SERP’s as opposed to others.

Local search is another important change that comes with the Panda update. Google aims to improve the algorithm to trigger local results more effectively.

Google also made tweaks that will help display “Official Pages” more effectively. Unofficial pages will drop in rankings while the ‘Official’ brand pages will get a better ranking in SERP’s. This will help website owners get a better understanding of how their websites will be ranked. Delve deep into this change to improve your rankings and have a successful website.

Google stated, “We often use characteristics of links to help us figure out the topic of a linked page. We have changed the way in which we evaluate links; in particular, we are turning off a method of link analysis that we used for several years. We often rearchitect or turn off parts of our scoring in order to keep our system maintainable, clean and understandable.”
