Important factors to consider in SEO

On an SEO training call recently, I was asked which would be the most important factors that I would look out for in a website while formulating an search engine optimization campaign strategy for it. Generally we’re always asked which factors are important in search engine optimization, but this time the question was specific – Which are the top 3 or 4 factors to consider for SEO?

Well, I said number of unique content pages that can be indexed, links (both incoming from other websites and internal), unique and optimized page titles and optimized text. “In that order” was the next question? And I said no, I would rate all these factors at par. Having unique optimized content and titles are of no use if your site has only complicated and dynamic URLs, which may never let all the pages get indexed or having tons of incoming links will not help you fully leverage the potential of your website with regards its search engine placement, if you do not have unique content to back it up with.

Thus, having a combination of all these factors can help your website achieve the improved search engine rankings that you are looking for helping you get more traffic resulting in more leads and sales.
