You get the joke? No? C’mon…read it again. Now? No? Arrgggh, okay, read this.

Alright, so today, we shall talk about the very interesting topic of how to Ensure Google Analytics Is Running Perfectly. So this one's coming directly from a Google partner, it better work.

Everyone, at some point of time in their life, will face this question – "Is my analytics working properly?". Especially if you are an SEO/webmaster. Actually, only if you are an SEO/webmaster, but never mind.

So, how to really check? It's really simple, just read on.

Mr. Daniel Waisberg of Conversion Journey explains 5 Ways To Ensure Google Analytics Is Running Perfectly in his post on the GA blog. We shall see a few of those ways.

We'll take this in points:

  1. Use Real-Time Reports – Okay, so this one's new (for me at least). GA offers Real Time Reports of what's going on your website. It's not available to everyone though. We can sign up for Google Analytics Real Time by filling up this form and hope that we get shortlisted by Google :-) . Once we get access to real time reports of our website, we can simply set up a profile in GA with a filter showing activity of only our I.P address. Now all you need to do is, keep track of what you do on the website and verify it 10 minutes later with data from Google Analytics Real Time!
  2. Use the Google Analytics [De]bugger extension – "This extension loads the debug version of the Google Analytics Javascript for all sites you browse using Google Chrome." To use this tool, install it on your Chrome Browser and press Ctrl+Shift+j to open the JavaScript console. Now, refresh the page of your website and watch. What you will see is a simple version of what is being sent to the GA servers. Simple way to verify if assigned the correct source/medium/campaign etc.

These were just few of the many ways discussed. You can read the original post if you're looking for more information.
